Quirky Films was founded in 2012 by Sascha Ali and Sean Hodgkinson who met each other while working at local television station. Their experiences at that station gave birth to their debut film, A Story About Wendy, which premiered at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (ttff) to audience and critical acclaim and was followed two years later, by the popular sequel,

A Story About Wendy 2 which won the People’s Choice Award for Best Narrative Feature at the ttff/14. The award multiple- award winning “Trafficked,” followed a year later, copping the prize for Best Local Feature Film at the ttff/15 and Best Foreign Feature at the San Francisco Black Film  Festival in 2016. As of July 2016, Trafficked, written, directed and

co-produced by Hodgkinson, has screened at over a dozen international festivals.

Quirky Film’s latest project, “The Weekend” is slated for release in the first quarter of 2017.
