THE WEEKEND TT, A FILM BY SEAN HODGKINSON, HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE CARIBBEAN TALES INCUBATOR IN TORONTO

July 7 2016, Port-of-Spain – THE WEEKEND, a film by award-winning directorSean Hodgkinson has been accepted into the Caribbean tales Incubator in Toronto,Canada.

Sponsored by FLOW for 2016, the CaribbeanTales Incubator (CTI) is a year-rounddevelopment and production hub for Caribbean and Caribbean Diaspora Producersthat aims to create strong, compelling and sustainable content for the global market.

The ultimate goal of the CTI is to increase the pool of world-class indigenous filmand television content so as to build the region’s audio visual capacity

 

The incubator takes place from the 6th to 11th September 2016.

I’m very proud that wecan make a product that is commercially viable and that our work continues to grow

the industry.”

The film follows accomplished film director Gregg Pinto as he celebrates his 40th birthday with eleven of his closest friends at his family’s beach house. What could possibly go wrong? The Weekend features a quirky ensemble cast led by Stephen Hadeed Jr., Ayanna Cezanne, Cindy F. Daniel, Chris Smith, Andrew Friday and introduces David Cogdell as Ganesh. Director Sean Hodgkinson reunites with the A Story About Wendy/Trafficked crew and returns to the world of dramedy with this hilarious short.

 

The Weekend producer, Aurora Herrera, will join Hodgkinson in representing the film in Toronto.

“The Weekend has been accepted into the Pilot Production Program,” Herrera said. “We have already outlined plots for seven more films for a series with material which will appeal to the Caribbean, Caribbean diaspora and also the global market. Our team is excited about the journey ahead. I must also extend deep thanks to our sponsors HADCO and TGI Friday’s who gave to our project generously.”
